Qualification Requirements:
Level- 5:
- Any degree or its equivalent in any field from a recognized University.
Level- 4:
- Any degree or its equivalent in any field from a recognized University.
- First Year B.Sc. (Physics) Pass or 12th (+2 stage) pass in Higher Secondary Science (Physics or Maths) from a recognized institution.
- Passed 12th standard (10+2 level) or an equivalent examination from a recognized Board or University. For the skill test, the prescribed dictation speed is 80 words per minute. The duration of the test is 10 minutes, transcription time 50 minutes (English), and 65 minutes (Hindi).
Level- 3/2:
- 12th (+2 stage) or its equivalent examination passed for Non-Technical posts. Educational Qualification must be from Recognized Institution.
- Candidates should have completed Matriculation and possess an Act Apprenticeship/ITI certificate approved by NCVT or SCVT from a recognized institute. (Diploma in Engineering is not considered an equivalent qualification.)
- Only Act Apprenticeship/ITI certification is acceptable. No other degree, including an Engineering Diploma, would be viewed as an alternative even if it is a greater qualifications in the same area of study.
- Passed 10th Standard from an accredited school. Candidates chosen for the position of Skilled Artisan based on 10th Standard qualification will be expected to complete a three-year training course.
Level-1:
- 10th or its equivalent examination pass from a recognised institution.
Age Limit (as on 01-01-2026)
- Minimum Age Limit: 18 Years.
- Maximum Age limit: 25 Years.
- Born between: 02.01.2001 To 01.01.2008 (both days inclusive).
- No age relaxation (upper or lower) shall be permissible.
- The age will be reckoned as of 1st January 2026.
Application Fee
- The examination fee for every candidate is: Rs.500/- (Five Hundred only) with a provision of returning Rs.400/- to those who actually take part in the trials.
- For the SC/ ST/ Ex-Servicemen/ Women/ Minorities/ EBCs candidates the fee is Rs.250/- (Two Hundred and Fifty only) with the provision of refunding the same to those who actually appear in the trials.

Recruitment Process
- The selection will be based on the candidates performance during the trials, evaluation of the sports achievements, and educational qualifications.
- Only the candidates who will be declared FIT in the trials will be considered for the next stage of the recruitment process.
- Trials for all qualified candidates will be set up to evaluate their sports accomplishments and eligibility for choice for this recruiting.
- The trials’ dates will be made public on the RRC website later. The tests will be conducted in Hubballi, Bengaluru, Mysuru, or any other place designated by the Government.
- While all efforts will be made to notify candidates in advance, they should be ready to come for the selection exams at quick notice.
- Candidates should regularly refer to the website for information in this regard.
- Candidates should be aware of the fact that they will have to produce the original documents of all the uploaded documents in the online application like educational qualification, caste, sports achievements, date of birth, minority income certificate, and identity proof such as PAN card, Aadhar Card, Driving Licence, etc. on the day of document verification and on the day of trials. If the candidate fails to do so, he will not be allowed to participate in the trials
- Candidates recommended for appointment will undergo medical classification ‘BEE-ONE’ (B-1) and above medical classification’ by the Railway Administration to ensure that they are Medically FIT to carry out the duties connected with the post.
- Only those candidates who are medically FIT in ‘BEE-ONE (B-1) and above medical classification’ would be considered for appointment.
- Those candidates who are advised for appointment will be assigned to the posts of the Safety category or will be working in the field.
